Lovely Flower

This delphinium is simply gorgeous and I go out and talk to it every day I have others but this one is special, I have just been in the garden and everything smells wonderful the roses are putting on a real show this year, all that rain was obviously good for something. I am putting together a nine patch quilt for my daughter Kate she of the cups and saucers fame, she wanted a simple quilt in lots of yellows and white I have done 64 blocks I have to level them and then put them together I will show you the top when this is done.

Crazy Cat Lady

This is my friend Kathleen you know her as Cottonreel, I took this picture yesterday, we had been to the fabric guild to spend yet more money on fabric and buttons and lots of goodies and so we needed fortifying with coffee and cream cakes, this pussycat joined us at the table and had a saucer of milk whilst we had our coffee and cakes as you can see kathleen is besotted.

Shabby Roses BOM

I have finished the first two blocks of the Shabby Roses BOM thy are lovely to do and I am really enjoying the embroidery bit. I have 3 more to do and I believe there will be twelve in all I think they will make a beautiful quilt, I love all things pink and I am looking forward to putting these together.

A Cottage on the River.

This was such a beautiful place, a small cottage with it's own mooring for a narrow boat. How lovely to be able to just get on your boat and travel the waterways and then come back to this sweet cottage.

These are the dancers I mentioned there were lots more too, we really are a daft lot.

Our visit to Cambridge.

Hello Everyone, it's good to be back. We had a lovely time in Cambridge, what a pretty part of the country this is. Cambridge itself is full of history and the University buildings are magnificent. Everybody cycles around the town as you can see from the pictures there are bikes everywhere. On the river Ouze there are punts and people love to be taken down the river in them, I think the students earn a bit of cash from doing this. We spent a great day here, there are lots of little alleys and tiny streets which are enchanting and seem to say please walk this way, and we always do and usually find something special at the other end. We also went to St. Ives (cambridgeshire) this is where Oliver Cromwell was born and there is a large statue of him in the town square. We went to St Neots which was a quaint little place and this is where you see the eccentricity of the english come to light, there were dancers in the market square they wore clogs and all sorts of wonderful costumes and had the time of their lives entertaining the public, we clapped and tapped along with the best of them. I will put some pictures on for you to see.
